The Turban trend

The Turban trend

Global takeover:

A touch of the eastern fashion with a contemporary modern day feel to the look. The turban trend, is a fashion fad that never seems to die out. Perfect for those summer time looks, from Boho elegances to parisian flair, its a style that can work well with your flat sandals and sky high heels.

An pure essences of old time glam, many celebrities fall back on this trend embracing a relaxed mood to their looks. Last spring/summer catwalk '12 saw the trend hitting the runways for a return, with Dolce & Gabbana welcoming the scarf wrapped turban look.

In many Eastern cultures the Turban is an important connection to religion and tradition, but for fashion its the perfect and glamourous way of hiding a bad hair day. Its this summer most essential item, working it in your beach bikini look, to your city street-style.

I am in love with this trend, for those that can totally pull it off so effortlessly, I salute you. A unique touch of difference to any ordinary outfit, for your casual day attire to your evening gatherings. A trend that I have not been that brave enough to try out, but most certainly up for the fashionable challenge of turbans. -

Arthur George By Rob Kardashian

Sock Swag

Funky socks by Arthur George:

Rob Kardashian is following in the footsteps of his fashionable older and younger sisters. The American reality TV show family that has gained worldwide success, building an enormous brand empire...and yet has another surprise up their sleeve. With  Kourtney, Kim and Khole Kardashian having made their mark on the fashion world with their various collection collaborations and watched style, the only male Kardashian is also set to hit the fashion world in a whole new direction. At the end of 2012 Robert Kardashian launched his 1st collection 'Arthur George' socks, exclusively available in US luxury department store Neiman Marcus

Arthur George collection offers something new to your average pair of socks that you have lying in your draw, their modern, fun and above all they are covered in vibrant and unique patterns. Each pair is made of Egyptian cotton, and available in a choice of 35 different patterns, although they are marketed at men, they are most definitely unisex. (I have certainly found a couple of pairs that I just need to have).

The name of Rob Kardashian's sock line is taken from a family connection, his middle name is Arthur and his late fathers middle name was George, he combined the two to create a stand-out classy brand, away from the Kardashian brand name that his sisters are apart of. The fashion forward Rob Kardashian has a huge interest in fashion, he appreciates what women wear and takes notice. He choose socks as his starting point for Arthur George, as he has said that socks are his thing.

Each pair of the 35 sock collection, holds a interesting pattern that you would not imagine to be on your socks. Rob takes inspiration from everything and anything, he has worked to create pieces that have been officially designed by him.

"I'd take a picture of something and try and bring it to life. These had a lot of wild colors. I wanted it to look different. We had so many prints to chose from and Neimans did the final selection, though everything had my design behind it and approval."

You can never have too many socks, their a human essential... I have found my new favourite brand for my SOCKS. Arthur George is dapper, trendy and a pop of personality to anyones outfit! -

Proenza Schouler

Proenza Schouler

Brand Profile:
Contemporary New-York based brand

The New York based brand Proenza Schouler was established in 2002, by two partners who had both met while studying at The Parsons School of Design. After collaborating with both of their design ideas, the entire collection was bought by Barneys New York, and this is where the new 'IT BAG' was established.

The name of the band came about from both of the partners mothers maiden names. Proenza Schouler is defined by its great balance of craftsmanship and attention to detail, a great example of how a simple detail can work so effectively.

The refined ease of the look of Proenza Schouler's bag designs, is drawn from the contemporary art and the youth culture. Much of the brands women's clothing line also shows great execution on tailoring and the use of custom developed fabrics and textures.

SKarman's Thoughts:

I truly love the simplicity of Proenza Schouler's designs, with the great use of fabrics, textures and colours in all styles of the bag from large to wrist strapped clutches.

My favourite bag style would have to be clutch (PS11 Clutch), with metal detailing, i love the size, like a fresh new take on satchel but in mini size, perfect for day and even evening...I LOVE!
With the metal detailing at the front of the bag, I would work it in a bright colour, like the Python yellow print or a classic black which you can never go wrong with. -
Celebrities also can't get enough of Proenza Schouler's fresh designs!

Flower Power !

ƸӜƷ Flower Power ƸӜƷ

New blooms for your Spring / Summer Wardrobe:

This summer time, be sure to be inspired by mother natures creation, with many summer outfits feature the peace and love trend of flowers, from Christopher Kane's organza 3D flower dress, to Louis Vuitton's cut-out metallic and fresh whites flower design. The perfect summer's day outfit.

Work the power of your flower summer dress, with flats or wedge, depending on the occasion. For a more casual approach, pair long maxi floral prints with denim waistcoats and messenger bag. For evening, wear your hair up allowing the dresses beautiful blooms to be truly admired.

Keep you cool and stylish, from the runways to the high streets store, you'll be sure to come across many items in your favourite high street store.

Favourite High Street Picks:

  • ZARA: There's always room for more Zara in your wardrobe, with its garments always on trend. I LOVE this body-con floral print dress, with round neck, i defiantly feel there's some inspiration from British designer Stella McCartney's iconic cuts.
You simply can not go wrong with this dress, easily paired with anything to be dressed up or down. Simply ADORE!
